Can you watch footage recorded with Samsung Gear 360 on any VR headset, or must it be the Samsung Gear VR?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Ping.  You can use any VR headset, but it works best on Samsung Gear VR.

Some benefits of the Gear VR for Gear 360:

On the Gear 360 Manager app, there is a button to "View on VR" which makes it convenient to see photos and videos on Gear VR.

On the Gear VR, the audio of the Gear 360 is 360 degrees (changes based on where you're facing).

On the Gear VR, photos and videos are much more immersive compared to Cardboard.

However, it is not necessary to get the Gear VR.  It is possible to see the Gear 360's photos or videos on any VR headset.  You just need to upload it to a site that supports Google Cardboard (or your preferred VR headset such as HTC Vive).

Best regards,

Mic
