I use a program called VideoReDo to combine files and edit out sections. It's not free, but it's not very expensive. The resulting video has to be injected.

I think about Samsung Gear 360 or LG 360 Cam to use as the dashcam? In this topic I would like to focus on Samsung camera in other on LG and to know your reviews. Is this possbile to use it as a 360-degree car camera? :)

    Fast driving in Vancouver.

I've tried it as a dash cam using both camera and I can't make out any car regs or any detail even with the 60fps mode.

Switching to a single camera mode yields a better quality but probably defeats the point of having it as 360 dash cam.

Also there is an orientation issue when mounting it upside down. :(

Why not just mount it upside down and change orientation during playback

I wont be using it as a daily dash camera. Its not discreet enough, it has no autorecord function, and is to expensive to leave in car and to much hassle to remove each time.
I already have a cheap ebay twin camera dedicated dash cam wired in to car.
Gear 360 will be for trackdays and special journeys, As well as family fun etc like a normal camcorder.

I think another issue is heat buildup.  When the Gear 360 is mounted on the dash, it will be exposed to the sun.  The hotter it gets, the shorter the recording time.  In my case, I have been able to record for 25 minutes.  Others have gone up to 40 mins.  It can be as little as 5 minutes only, depending on how hot it is.

    Best regards,

Dash cams tend to be hard wired, but it would seem the 360 cant record and charge. Haven't tried a powered usb with no signal yet which may work.
Also arguably the inside of a car in use doesn't get too hot as most are airconned or atleast kept comfortable for occupants.

Hi Loggyboy.  Maybe you're right about the aircon.  I guess I would need to actually try it out to be sure.

    Best regards,

A/c doesnt matter. I use a white galaxy note 4 and will experiment with a homemade shade made out out of cardboard to help in summer. It would be nocw though to have a cera that can record two videos at once rather than stitch together a video.

Btw, i use a gnote4 because of replaceable battery. Also, turning off screen while recording using as an app helps tremendously wity heat and battery. Be careful no matter what you use in the summer. Heat can stop video recording because battery too hot or phone too hot. Dash cams that use capacitors to power it during summer would be best option. For now though my WHITE gnote4 has alleviated some of the heat issues ive had before. A/c DOES NOT HELP as mich as you think it would. It is exposed directly to sun. Unless you macgyver a hose from vent directly to recording decice.
